Federal Skilled Worker Program – Express Entry

The Express Entry Immigration system implemented in January, 2015, includes a Federal Skilled Worker Program.

 

Interested candidates need to submit an expression of interest profile to the Express Entry Pool. Their profiles are ranked in a Comprehensive Ranking System under which the highest ranked candidates receive an invitation to submit a full application within 60-days.

 

To increase their chances of success, candidates of this program must:

 

1) have one-year of continuous full-time paid work experience or equivalent in part-time employment within the previous 10 years (work classified within NOC system and within the 347 occupations);
2) demonstrate intermediate level language skills in English or French through language testing;
3) have suitable settlement funding for their family and themselves;
4) have their education evaluated by a designated third party to determine Canadian equivalent education;
5) be of optimal an age range (between 18-35);
6) have a pre-arranged employment (LMO);
7) demonstrate adaptability; and,
8) have a successful security background and medical examination.

 
Candidates must obtain 67 percent points to qualify. The program aspires to select candidates with the highest probability of economic settlement success and contribution to Canada.
