Studies have found that children who are closer to their grandparents lead a happier life than people who are not closer to their grandparents because:
1) Closeness to grandparents give children a sense of who they are. They get to know their roots and they get a fuller perspective on life;
2) Children develop higher self-esteem and better social and emotional skills;
3) Children feel special and wanted;
4) Children learn new skills and hobbies;
5) Children have someone to talk to and confide in; and,
6) Children get all of the attention they need.
