On Remembrance Day, a two minute silence is observed at 11:00 am on the 11th day of the 11th month as this is when World War I ended in 1918. Since then, on Remembrance Day, ceremonies are held around the world to honour all people who have died in wars. We honour those who sacrificed their lives for the peace and security of others.
